You know those day when all you feel like is a decadent, delicious, chocolate treat? Perhaps even for breakfast! Well there's a few reasons why this might be the case...
1. You're a chocoholic just like me
2. Sometimes you like the sweeter things in life
3. Your chocolate cravings are trying to tell you something...!
Believe it or not, the cravings we have often reflect the things we are deficient in. Chocolate cravings in particular can indicate low magnesium - which is what raw cacao is surprisingly high in. But reaching for a block of chocolate won't provide you with a worthy dose of magnesium - just a high dose of sugar, additives and dairy products. So instead give my Chocolatey Chia Pudding a try. It's still loaded with the goods and undeniably tasty!
Time: 5 minutes prep / set overnight (or 2hrs)
¼ cup of Chia Seeds
½ cup of mylk (I used Inside Out’s Almond Milk)
1 tbsp of cacao
2 tsp of vanilla essence
Place chia seeds in a bowl and pour over the milk. Whisk together with a fork to make sure they combine evenly. Add in the cacao and vanilla essence, and continue to whisk. Once all the ingredients have combined and the chia seeds start to expand, place the mix in the bowl / cup / jar / container, whatever you wish to set it in. Place it in the fridge overnight, or for 2 hours.
Top with your favourite fruits, yoghurt and granola – like my sugar-free granola – and then, enjoy!
